Space Camp building Facade for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The lunar façade on the new Space Camp building for the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. I designed this using the 3D topology of our planet's natural satellite, the Moon

The Story
Having a background in designing and sculpting rockwork for Disney Theme Parks can come in handy when desiging a facade that has never been built before. NASA was looking for a new facade design for their new Space and Rocket Center Camp building. They knew they wanted craters, but didn't know what kind until I presented them with the concept of using the actual moon surface. I worked for Branch Technology for two years as one of their Designer/Project Managers. I presented the design created in Zbrush after just a few days of tinkering around with varius versions. This is the one that won their hearts.
